The quarantine thanks to the outbreak of COVID-19 has changed almost every aspect of most people’s lives. From working at home to changing how much time and how we interact with our significant others, there’s a lot to adjust to.

The stress that comes with this has challenged many aspects of life from people’s sleep schedules to even the sex life that couples share. The best way to try and counteract the effects of this stress and the negative results it can bring is to find ways to counteract it and reduce it so you can enjoy your time with your partner and your shared sex life.

One way to do this that you might not have considered is actually right in your kitchen! There are plenty of ways that cooking can be used to spice up your sex life during this quarantine!

Have a Romantic Dinner

One of the best ways to set the scene for romance is to prepare a romantic dinner. While your favorite restaurants and eateries might be closed, that doesn’t mean that you have to throw date night to the wind.

Not only is this a way to work around the limitations of social distancing, but it’s also a great way to add a personal touch to your meals. What’s your partner’s favorite food? Are there certain things they wish were different than the way they get it in a restaurant? Can you accommodate for details like preferences, allergies, or diet choices in your own kitchen the way that a restaurant might not be able to?

You can even try to kick things up a notch by inviting your partner into the kitchen! It can be a great bonding experience to prepare meals together and, even outside of your sex life, you can learn a lot more about your partner. How do they like to cook? What has cooking meant to them over the course of their life? Being closer to your partner as a whole goes a long way.

It Offers Stress Relief

Many of us aren’t used to being home all the time. This means that not everyone is used to having all their meals at home. When you’re trying to work and handle massive loads of stress, the little things like not being able to run to a nearby restaurant on your lunch break or grab breakfast or coffee on the way to work add up in your daily frustrations.

This means that taking little steps like making your partner some of the lunch or breakfast that you cook for yourself can go a long way in reducing tensions. Of course, the less tensions that there are in the house, the better your relationship – and your sex life – will be.

Break Out of the Routine

Quarantine has also put many people into a routine which can make the days drag on and increase our stress levels. If you want to make your downtime even more enjoyable, take little steps to break up the routine and keep your quarantine as varied as possible.

Cooking can play a huge role in this. When you fall into the routine of cooking similar meals every night, it only adds to the monotony that this sort of lifestyle can include. In turn, this makes you and your partner more stressed and less likely to enjoy your time together when you aren’t working.

Try to incorporate new experiences into your daily routine. For example, check out new recipes that you might not have tried before while you’re in quarantine. Even if you can’t go out and get unique ingredients right now, you can try to use the ingredients you have in your house in new and exciting ways.

Don’t be afraid to step outside of the kitchen too! You don’t have to make every meal standing in front of your oven either. Shake it up sometimes and step outside. Enjoy the use of a versatile gas grill with hardy stainless steel construction in your backyard – you can make anything from your favorite spare ribs to a refreshing vegetarian barbeque. Aside from the delicious meals you can make here, the change in scenery and fresh air will help to relax you both which will help with stress levels and better your chances of romance.

In the end, one of the best ways to make sure that your night goes as well as possible is to make sure that your partner and you are both comfortable and relaxed. Cooking is a great way to bond with your partner, relax from the stress of the day and the building stress of quarantine, and these are all great ways to improve your sex life. After all, the more comfortable everyone is, the better!
